Hello!

Poor Moe is sick. As a result our house is a disaster zone! Mimi decided to help out, so she paid the bills for us:

OH, I almost forgot...All you crafty people out there....What are these? A hat for a doll's head? I got them at a yard sale. I bought a box of crafting supplies and several of these were in the box. I am perplexed by them, and obsessed with finding the answer.

We bought this really cool tool-a dremel! It is my anniversary gift! hehe! You know some girls want diamonds and purses...not me! I want some tools! If there is no threat of losing a finger or limb, then it's no fun! Anyway, our first go at it produced this guy:

Yes, this is Moe snuggling with his Tyke Light. We are finally getting the sleep we need. He snuggles with it for a minute or so, gives it a kiss, and then puts it on his nightstand.

Keeping Busy

Here is a painting I am working on. I have a case of "finish-itis" with it. It is for Mimi, and she really wants it to be finished....I guess it is no longer inspiring me to pick up my brush....Sometimes I have to live with something for awhile before I am motivated again.
I made this yesterday, and I really like it. I put it above my kitchen sink. It was fun sawing, drilling, and painting. I also used this old leather shoe string to tie it all together.

I bought the wood frame at a yard sale on Saturday. I spent 50 cents, and I thought that it would work with the circle painting (1st picture), but it's too big. So, I came up with this instead. It is a strange grouping and a strange way to use a frame, but it motivates me to think about different ways of doing things.

Happy Father's Day

My mom often tells me Kevin is such a "good daddy" because he watches the kiddos while I run errands. I always agree he is a great father, but not for those reasons. He is a great father because of the quality time he spends with Mimi and Moe. He has great patience, and he is so creative. He is always making up games with them, or encouraging them to use their imaginations. I couldn't have imagined a husband or father like him. Thank you, Kevin!

Old clothing + Creativity = Bears

These little faceless bears were made to give Moe an easier transition to his "big boy" twin bed. They were made from Dad's beat up shirts, an old apron , and a favorite uncle's shirt. Oh, and poly-fil.
They also have been great to stuff in between the wall and side of bed. Now I don't have to worry about Moe getting wedged there.

I tried to make a couple dinosaurs, but then my sewing machine decided it no longer wanted to cooperate.

Playdates....

Playdates rock! It is so good for my kids because they learn to share. Although we don't always rise to the challenge of being good sharers, I think we do okay. The kids are always so exhausted afterwards and they sleep so well!

On a sad note, Tim Russert has died. He was 58 and had a heart attack. It seems lately I have been thinking more of my own mortality. If you haven't had a physical, GO GET ONE. As I get older, I realize I put things like that off, and I make the assumption all is well. Maybe we need second opinions!

Can you believe our good friend made this crown? It has been so much fun seeing him dress up in it! He is so proud to know it is his! We thank you Adrienne! You amaze us! And we look forward to a tutorial so we can make some too! :)

Mimi: Why do bad people have arms?
Me: What do you mean by "bad people"?
Mimi: Like people who steal....They should take their arms away.
Me: Maybe in some countries they do that, but not here.
Mimi: Good. I don't want to move there.
Me: Why?
Mimi: Cause I might want to steal things.
Me: What things?
Mimi: Things I see that I like.

Yep, I cave in too.

My big girl is 3 1/2 now. And my baby Moe will be two next week! OH! He is so grown up now! I am a little sad, but also so proud. Did I forget to mention I am also TIRED?!
Also, until I can figure out how to get video streamed, go to youtube and search for "screaming frog." The kids demand to watch these clips. It is pretty funny. I didn't know toads could scream! Who knew?!

Yep, I lie...all the time.

Today Mimi asked me if we had popsickles. I said we were out. We are out. She asked if I could buy more at the store. And I said "NO." She asked if the stores still sell them. I said "probably not" and then told her how bad they are for her teeth, etc....So, she concluded the stores can't sell them because they are bad for her. I didn't correct her.
