It's ALIVE!!! And other nonsense....

This is what I looked at for a couple weeks:

We have lots of really bad broken computers....Kevin decided to make as many functional ones as possible. With a lot of effort on his part, he created 3 FRANKEN-computers! MWAAHAAHAA. A couple of them are pretty slow stone age types, while one is actually pretty darn fast! So here is what our mornings now look like:

Um...guys...Can Mom check her mail?? The kids love Starfall and Tux Paint.

Now, here is a project that I am having a hard time finishing...I desperately want to crochet some rugs. I have oodles of fabric. I cannot make a circle rug. It ends up becoming a bowl EVERY SINGLE time.
I have baskets and baskets of fabric specifically for the rug project. :( It is frustrating. I know I could make a simple rectangle, but I really wanted to make a couple circle ones and one oval one. :( Any tips would greatly be appreciated. I am losing my patience.

Piddling around...crafting

A very old window made into a wall hanging. It is a work in progress, but I do like how it is turning out. I think I will swap pictures out as the kids grow.

In other news, Kevin hacked together another computer for the kids. They are in love with Starfall. Now I have to fight them for computer access. Moe is pretty good with the computer. It amazes me.

Mimi is starting to give up that treasured (by me) afternoon nap. I have always loved that 2 hour period of "me" time. I could get the house in some kind of order, and read or craft or sleep... :(

Randomness

Diego looks like he is hitting the streets. Yes, that is a spider in his mouth. My sweet Mimi had all sorts of toy options at her last dentist appointment, and she chose a neon blue spider...for Diego, of course!

Oh, my! I finally am feeling more like myself. I managed to get food poisoning over the weekend...to be more specific...E Coli. YUCK! I am on the mend, but my energy level is not back to normal yet.

Here are random things I have been thinking about & wanting to share:

Ignore the fan reflection in the glass....Doesn't this lion have character?
I finally got around to hanging him up in Moe's room. He came from Goodwill for $1. Someone spent a great deal of time stitching him together.

Check out this hardwood bookshelf circa 1940. It came from the neighbors. They wanted it gone...like yesterday! We have huge storage needs. So, this will work.

Bad Days

Yesterday was one of those days. You know...the days when everything is hard. Mimi and Moe were irritable, and made terrible hosts to their friends who were over. And, in turn, I was annoyed with their behavior and lacked the necessary patience to help deescalate their behavior.

Maybe I can blame yesterday on the weather...Or on us being couped up for so long. I am more inclined to accept that all families everywhere have bad days and that we are no different.

Thankfully, the day is over and we are working towards a better one today.

Trip Down Memory Lane

You can almost read Moe's thoughts here...He is thinking "Why me? Why a pumpkin? Why not a lion?? ROAR!"

Moe was such a happy baby. He never takes things too seriously. I remember asking the DR if I should be worried because he hardly ever cried! HAHA!

At 18 mo we moved Mimi to a toddler bed because she kept trying to climb out. This was taken during her first nap in a big girl bed!

The snow is finally melting here. It was nice to get out today and do something. I like being a homebody...but, not THAT much. Now we have to get back into a routine. The kids need to get used to having friends over, going to their friend's homes , and learning to share...It is amazing how soon they forget some things!
