We planted this past weekend. It was rainy, muddy, and messy. We are mostly doing seed. It's cheaper, and a lot of what we wanted to grow we couldn't find in plant form.

Also, a side note: I hope Arizonians stand up! This is wrong.
Harassing Latinos with racial profiling isn't an inevitable side effect of Arizona's anti-immigration law -- it's the entire point.

Glad to see your garden is off and growing! (hopefully!) I just discovered some volunteer cherry tomatoes in mine - great!
And on the Arizona thing, I saw that in yesterday's paper. There is so much resentment in this country, and it makes me sad. I would have hoped that Arizona would be less hostile to Latinos, but I guess not.
Hooray for cultivating such awesome foods in your own garden!
Boo for prejudice & discrimination in Arizona and our own hometown.
My mother-in-law said to my husband last week (following the Times Square failed truck bombing): all Muslims are not terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims. Hubby pointed out to his mother that Oklahoma City bomber McVeigh was definitely not a Muslim. Sadly she was dismissive of the violence & hatred of our homegrown terrorist in comparison with the terrorist who comes from a religion she finds so alien.
Can we all, please, sow some tolerance and peace today???
