Bratz dolls look like hookers to me.....

Someone recently bought Mimi a Bratz doll. Kevin and I were disgusted, and confiscated the doll. Since Mimi is 3 1/2 yrs old, it was difficult to explain our reasoning. What do you think? Will you let your kids play with these or will you buy them as gifts for other children? Or do you think they are far too sexual and inappropriate?

I'm with you, lady! I have been so glad that my daughter (nearly 8) has never received/requested one of those dolls -- or any of their commercialized products.

I remember when she was 3 and rec'd a Valentine from a fellow preschooler with the Bratz characters on it, and I was worried that she would be corrupted. There are so many quality things for us to fill our children's lives with, that I think it is ridiculous not to take a stand when you can against trashy toys!

More power to you, proactive Momma!

ugh. yeah....I don't even know who they are, but I don't want Mary seeing them. All the character stuff drives me crazy though, so I am probably not a good one to ask.

yeah, maddy got a bunch of these dolls given to her (hand-me-downs), and they went straight to the get-rid-of-pile! it's so sad that ANY parent would allow their daughter to have them, much less purchase them! thank goodness when maddy saw them before we took them, she said...eeeewww! they're not pretty barbie dolls!.........phew.
